Smith Mountain Lake
Smith Mountain Lake is located at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains
in the southerwestern part of Virginia. The 20,000 acre lake is considered one of the premier
areas for water recreation and fishing on the east coast. Citation striped bass as well as
large and smallmouth bass offer anglers year-round delight.
This area also provides an array of other interests, including
historical sites and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Explore the many antique
shops, hiking trails, back country roads, horse farms, and of course,
the beauty of the fall foliage is unforgettable. Early reservations for the month
of October are recommended.
